Green Guru Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how and when Green Guru collects, uses, and shares your information when you use Green Guru, including our voice application, mobile applications and websites (the “Services”). Green Guru receives your information through our voice application, mobile applications, websites, email notifications, and other interactions with our Services. When using any of our Services you consent to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure and other uses of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. Irrespective of which country you reside in or supply information from, you authorize Green Guru to use your information in the United States, Canada and any other country where Green Guru operates.

Information Collection and Use

Some of our Services require you to provide information directly to us, such as your street address, postal code, phone number or email address. We always try to collect the minimal amount of information required in order to provide the Services you request. The information may vary depending on your request:

  • Information Collected by the Schedule Tool: In order to provide you with accurate schedule information for your location, we collect your address.
  • Information Collected When You Report Problems or Feedback: If you use our Services to report a problem or submit feedback, we may ask for your email address or other information. This information will be used to solve your problem and reply with a solution or a response. We may also provide you with the option of sending your current location or a photo to us which we use to help understand and resolve any problems you may be experiencing with our Services.

Information We Collect Automatically When You Use Our Services

When you use our Services, we automatically collect information, including some personal information, about the Services you use and how you use them.

Usage Information: As with most technology services, Green Guru’s servers collect and log information when you use our Services. This includes your IP Address, information about the content you are requesting, the time that content is accessed, and the type of browser and device you are using, your network carrier, device and application IDs and search terms. This information is used in order to monitor the use of our Services and to help ensure the security of our Services, such as by helping to detect and prevent intruders from accessing your personal information. It is also used to report aggregated information about who is using our Services so that we can make improvements to the experience for everyone.

Device Information: Green Guru collects additional information about your device when you use an application that is powered by Green Guru. This includes the type of device (e.g. whether Amazon, Alexa, Google Home, Mac, PC, iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, iPad, etc.), the operating system (e.g. Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android) and version, a unique identifier, and crash data when a software defect occurs. This information is used to improve the experience of Green Guru applications, and fix software defects.

Cookies and Similar Technologies: Green Guru uses cookies to help improve your experience when you use our Services. These cookies help your web browser remember any information you have entered, such as your postal code or address, so you do not need to re-enter it every time you use the service. Cookies also allow us to gather information about how many people are using our Services, and how they use them so that we can make improvements to the overall experience. You may disable the use of cookies in your web browser’s settings, but this may limit your use of Green Guru’s Services.

Third-Party Services: Green Guru uses a variety of third-party services to help provide our Services, and to help us understand the use of our Services. These third-party service providers may use cookies and other technologies to collect information about your use of our Services and other websites and services, including your IP address, device ID, pages viewed, and links clicked. Our service providers include Google Analytics and its demographics and interests reporting feature, which you can opt out of here and here.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Service Providers: We may engage service providers to perform functions and provide services to us in the United States, Canada and elsewhere. We may share your private personal information with such service providers subject to confidentiality obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy, and on the condition that the third parties use your private personal data only on our behalf and pursuant to our instructions.

Law and Harm: Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Policy, we may preserve or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect Green Guru’s rights or property. However, nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any legal defenses or objections that you may have to a third party’s, including a government’s, request to disclose your information.

Business Transfers: In the event that we become involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. The promises in this Privacy Policy will apply to your information as transferred to the new entity.

Non-Private or Non-Personal Information: We may share or disclose your non-private, aggregated or otherwise non-personal information.

Modifying Your Personal Information

You can also permanently delete your Green Guru account by contacting us (see details under “Contacting Green Guru” section).

Our Policy Towards Children

Our Services are not directed to persons under 13. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we take steps to remove such information and terminate the child’s account.

Changes to this Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version of the policy will govern our use of your information and will always be available here. If we make a change to this policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will attempt to notify you at a location associated with your account or through the Services. By continuing to access or use the Services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
